Woolworths has launched a mobile app for its Rewards loyalty scheme.
Bonus points and personalised offers
Woolworths Rewards has over 12m members in Australia and members will now be able to download a smartphone app from either the Apple or Google Play Store. The app will allow members to activate bonus point offers, discover personalised special offers, as well as check their points balance. Special offers highlighted will span Woolworths Supermarkets, but also those at BWS and Big W, linking up a more personalised experience across Woolworths banners for the first time.

The app also has some additional handy features, such as allowing users to find the nearest participating fuel site to earn points and redeem 4c per litre discount vouchers. It also offers will offer e-receipts for purchases made in Woolworths Supermarkets and a digital loyalty card for convenient in-store scanning. Woolworths will continue to monitor the new app and will look to bring new features online over the coming months.

Digitalisation of loyalty schemes is something that has been bubbling around for a number of years and is probably long overdue. This latest development from Woolworths should see the retailer start to maximise the potential of its loyalty scheme, rewarding customers wilth offers that are relevant to them.
