Tesco in Malaysia is restructuring its store management structure to one that
is simpler and more agile.
Job cuts in response to changing customer needs
The development will affect Tesco's larger stores, where jobs will be cut and
staff reassigned to new roles. Although the numbers of job cuts are unknown,
Tesco has said that they are in response to changing customer needs. A company
spokesperson, said, “The structures have been designed to make sure we have
clearer lines of responsibility in crucial areas that influence customer
satisfaction like service, quality and availability – bringing our colleagues
closer to customers."
