Indomaret reports strong H1

Indomarco Prismatama has reported consolidated sales of IDR29.1 tn (US$2.2m) for H1 2016, 28.1% higher than H1 2015.

Store opening on track

Indomaret plans to open 1600 stores in 2016. As of 30th of June, the retailer operated 13,099 stores, 889 more than end of 2015. Java-Bali area continues to be the focus growth area of the store network. There are 686 more stores in Java-Bali at the end of H1 2016 than the end of 2015.

Indomaret aims to expand its minimarket network to every province and to the smallest administration units or villages in the country through franchise. By the end of June 2016, 4,132 stores (31.5% of the total number) were owned by its franchisee partners.

Sales per store increased 8.6%

Indomaret’s average daily store sales as of end of June 2016 was up 8.6% year-on-year. In Q2, the increase in food consumption and spending during Ramadan, which ended with Idul Fitri celebration on 6th July 2016, drove the growth.
