Lidl Spain has announced a collaboration with Spanish designer, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, to produce hygienic face masks in Spain. The partnership supports the Spanish textiles and fashion industry while contributing to a charity helping vulnerable families affected by COVID-19.
Supporting Spain’s economy
Lidl Spain has partnered with Agatha Ruiz de la Prada to offer three different designer face masks. The retailer plans to launch 500,000 exclusive and reusable masks at the beginning of July, selling them in packs of two at €3.99.
The partnership has enabled Lidl and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada to support the Spanish economy by manufacturing the face masks in Spain. Furthermore, the collaboration aligns with their strategy to build a more sustainable future both socially and economically.
Going the extra mile
The initiative supports a project developed by Save the Children called ‘A tu lado’ (by your side). This project helps vulnerable families affected by COVID-19. Lidl has committed to donating €1 to Save the Children for each pack purchased.
Andrés Conde, Save the Children’s general director stated, ‘Thanks to Lidl's commitment we can help them so that they and their families continue to have access to basic needs and a better future.’
Lidl Spain’s partnership plans to support several initiatives during coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic including:
- Donating to Save the Children to help those most vulnerable during COVID-19
- Continuing to build a more sustainable environment, socially and economically, by supporting local industries, including textiles and fashion
- Constantly reinforcing the safety of employees and shoppers during unprecedented times
