Unitas launches ‘Brand Box’ to drive retailer NPD take-up

Leading UK wholesale buying group, Unitas has launched a new product trialling scheme for independent retailers, offering free stock through its ‘Brand Box’ initiative to allow them to range new lines on a risk-free basis.

As part of Unitas’ ‘Plan for Profit’ programme to drive effective ranging through the independent retail channel, ‘Brand Box’ was initially slated for launch earlier this year but was postponed due to the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

First campaign scheduled for the end of October

Including products specially selected by Unitas in partnership with suppliers, each Brand Box campaign will feature the latest, most exciting new product launches plus established key lines from the Unitas ‘Plan for Profit’ core range.  Targeted to some 1,000 independent retailers, the first ‘Brand Box’ is to comprise trial products from leading brands such as Maltesers, Pot Noodle, Red Bull and Sharp’s Doombar.

Picture portal technology to provide to offer feedback to brands

Each of the Brand Box campaigns will be underpinned with Picture Portal technology, which will provide participating brands with the ability to monitor implementation through the scheme, allowing them to see their products merchandised across the stores activating the initiative.  In this way, as well as helping independent retailers maximise sales from new product launches, ‘Brand Box’ offers suppliers a platform to reach the consumer in a timely and effective manner.
