Parfetts reveals good growth for 2014

Date : 05 March 2015
Major regional cash & carry wholesaler, Parfetts, with six depots focused in the North-West and Midlands has published its annual results for the financial year ending 30 June 2014, revealing turnover up 3% to £309m.  Against the backdrop of a flat market,  Parfetts' performance continues to show the benefits of its strong regional presence and focus, as well as the success of its developing customer engagement strategies.

'Go Local' the key platform

While its customer base has always been predominantly independent retailers, recent years have seen Parfetts increase this focus further, developing a strong customer engagement package under the 'Go Local' umbrella.  Go Local offers scope for Parfetts to engage with retailers on a number of levels, starting as a retail club and progressing on to a full retail support option, including fascia and store fit.  There are now over 1,000 retailers who are actively implementing the Go Local promotional programmes as members of the club, and this includes more than 100 trading with the full package.

Extending customer service

A key element of supporting the retail club is offering services such as click & collect from its depots, on the relevant promotional lines above all, to drive up implementation of programmes.  Parfetts has invested in its depot technology infrastructure, including Wi-Fi coverage, to enable efficient picking for this.  And it will also shortly launch an enhanced e-commerce presence to offer a stronger online capability to target both retailers and the caterers, that remain an important secondary element in Parfetts' customer base.

Customer engagement and the development of online are big in 2015 ...
