Blakemore Wholesale launches new upscale symbol store format

Date : 03 June 2016

Blakemore Wholesale, the cash & carry focused division of AF Blakemore, with 14 depots across Wales, the midlands and northern England, is launching a new variant symbol store package, to help retailers targeting more affluent customers to better meet these more aspirational needs.

First Bmorelocal store opens 4th June

The new format, using the fascia Bmorelocal, is designed to offer a high quality store package to retailers looking to invest in a more sophisticated store fit, and who are willing and able to meet the highest standards in terms of disciplined retail execution.  With over thirty stores already in the pipeline, the first Bmorelocal will open at Immingham in Grimsby on 4th June, and the second in Swansea, South Wales on the 10th of the month.

An alternative to Lifestyle Express, to include stronger focus on food-to-go

Bmorelocal will sit alongside, and as an alternative to, Lifestyle Express, the core symbol package offered by Blakemore Wholesale, which is developed in association with the Landmark Wholesale buying group. The key differentiators for Bmorelocal will be a less overt focus on value, and the inclusion of a credible food-to-go offer built around features such as a Costa Express coffee machine and Brakes' Country Choice hot food ranges.

Blakemore Wholesale Stores Director, Nick Rose commented:

"The Bmorelocal fascia has been developed in response to increasing demand from retail club members for a more premium fascia option.  Our package has been built to work with our customers in partnership and our first two retailers fit the mould perfectly."
