Costcutter click & collect partnership with Parcelly

Date : 02 September 2016

Costcutter Supermarkets Group aims for footfall boost after signing a deal with mobile click & collect newcomer Parcelly.

Costcutter benefits from deal

The convenience group includes nationwide outlets Costcutter, Mace, kwiksave, Simply Fresh and Supershop. The convenience stores will now be used as locations where Parcelly consumers can collect and drop off parcels. Stores will receive commission payments for each parcel delivered to their store. The new deal is hoping to increase footfall and provide cross-selling opportunities. Multichannel strategies for convenience stores are increasingly important in order to edge out purely online competition.

Expanding network for Parcelly

Parcelly aims to put online shoppers in control of their parcel deliveries with its simple mobile apps, eliminating the risk of failed deliveries. The service also allows merchants to have flexibility over the number and size of the parcels they wish to receive.

Since Parcelly launched in 2014, it has built a network of 600 pickup points nationwide, made up of independent retailers. The new Costcutter partnership, alongside recently announced partnership with Palmer and Harvey, should increase this significantly. CEO Sebastian Steinhauser said: "As our network of Parcelly locations grow nationwide, we're delighted to partner with Costcutter Supermarket Group and its brands. Local retailers have always been at the heart of our consumer-focuses proposition and we share a mutual passion for customer convenience."
