Coles has launched a new online payment method inconjunction with its loyalty scheme partner Flybuys.

A more seamless checkout experience

Flypay is a new digital payment solution that allows shoppers to more seamlessly pay for their goods, but also ensure that they collect points at the same time. The payments system was co-developed by Coles and Bell Identification, a Visa business. Flypay is available through Coles Liquor websites, such as; Liquourland, Vintage Cellars, First Choice Liquor and First Choice Liquor Market, with more to be added in the coming months. Card and delivery information of customers are stored centrally, meaning those using the service can simply select flypays to checkout.

Investing in Flybuys for future growth

Coles owns 50% of Flybuys with its former parent, Wesfarmers, owning the other 50%. At the end of last year Wesfarmers and Coles injected an additional AU$16m into the loyalty program to support growth plans. Coles chief executive officer, emerging businesses, George Saoud, commented, “We know how much our customers love Flybuys and we want make it easier for them to get rewards every time they shop. By checking out with Flypay at eligible Flybuys partner retailers, they automatically receive their points without needing to re-enter their card details, ensuring a convenient, efficient and great value shop."
