It has been reported that The Co-operative Food has appointed Sainsbury's Andrew Mann to the newly created role of customer director, and Howard Reed, former New Look and Asda director, has been appointed to the newly created role of food chief information officer.
A breadth of experience
Andrew Mann is currently the director of insight and loyalty at Sainsbury's. He has previously held positions with several leading suppliers, including Cadbury Schweppes and Coca-Cola in addition to marketing director positions in Tesco including Clubcard, strategy and innovation. Howard Reed joins from New Look where he was group IT and change director, having previously worked in IT at Asda.
As part of The Co-operative's reshuffle, Cheryl Marshall will move from her current position in charge of the unity programme and will become service delivery director. And Mark Hale, previously the director of food information services and supply chain, will become the supply chain director.
Potential move into online
The announcements come as Andy Haywood, chief information officer at The Co-operative, is planning the launch of a new online strategy. Haywood plans to make a decision as to whether this will include a full online grocery offer by April.
