Lancashire-based supermarket group Booths has launched a new interactive loyalty card app offering customers a range of benefits.
Booths Card offers mix of incentives
Among the benefits offered to Booths Card holders are a 5% discount when buying six bottles of wine, a reusable bag after three shops and a quarterly digital magazine. Card holders are also able to log into their accounts on the Booths website and review their spending. Booths has been trialling a loyalty card at its Settle store since November 2011.
App offers further benefits
The loyalty card launch coincides with the launch of a new smartphone app that can be used to track spending and also browse recipes, access cooking tips, create an electronic shopping list, find out more about Booths products and suppliers, and locate their nearest store.
Building customer insight
Booths Card should enable the retailer to develop a deeper understanding of spending habits and the types of promotion customers are most responsive to, while also helping to build engagement and drive spend with younger quality seeking shoppers. With its focus on a range of targeted benefits, the scheme shares similarities with myWaitrose loyalty card which has helped support Waitrose's recent strong sales growth.
Commenting on the launch Booths marketing manager Danny Martin said: “Our customers share our passion for quality food and drink and the Booths Card scheme and app will help customers to manage their spend while also learning new food skills and recipes that will enable them to get the most pleasure from their shop."
