B&M looks set to increase grocery range

Date : 05 August 2019

Variety discount retailer B&M may be rolling out its frozen and chilled range to a wider selection of stores, according to The Grocer.

New distribution centre

B&M will open its new multi-temperature distribution centre in Bedford in September. This is a soft opening with the warehouse becoming fully operational in January 2020.

The retailer has previously said that chilled and frozen ranges could be rolled out in all B&M stores once this centre is operational, depending on individual category performance.

We have increasingly seen the retailer blur the lines between its two business since B&M acquired Heron Foods in January 2018. It has been growing the prominence of grocery and FMCG products within its B&M stores and adding best selling B&M lines to its Heron Foods stores. It has also been converting many of its Heron Foods to the 'B&M Express' banner.
