B&M launches app

The UK's leading variety discounter launches an app to help shoppers discover its latest deals.

Personalised communication

Users can create a profile, share their preferences and opt in for notifications to alert them of products that might be of interest.

The app hosts editorial content, provides access to B&M's social media pages, and offers shoppers chance to take part in competitions.

Other functional features include shopping list creation, store locator and barcode scanner to check prices. 

Driving visits to store

Variety discount shoppers enjoy the experience of exploring the diverse and frequently changing product ranges. Not all customers will be interested in downloading the app. However, those most loyal to the brand will benefit from raised awareness of products that are most relevant to them, and are likely to visit stores more frequently.

Both Aldi and Lidl have similar mobile apps to communicate their latest offers; Aldi's app also has transactional functionality.
