B&M: "from strength to strength" in Q3

Date : 12 January 2018

The discounter delivered double digit sales growth and strong like-for-likes on top of tough comparatives in the previous year.

Grocery & FMCG highlighted as growth drivers for B&M in the UK

Group sales grew 22.9% to £969.8m in the 13 weeks to 23 December 2017.

In the UK, B&M's sales increased 12.9% to £837.3m, driven both expansion (19 new stores opened in Q3) and robust like-for-likes of 3.9%. The discounter attributed its strong l-f-l performance to grocery & FMCG ranges, its value proposition, and store standards.

Heron and Jawoll deliver good results

B&M's German chain Jawoll grew sales 8.2% (or 10.4% in GBP) to £52.7m in the quarter. Newly acquired Heron stores also delivered positive like-for-likes, and opened four new stores in the period.
