Albertsons appoints new Chief Customer and Digital Officer

Albertsons has appointed Chris Rupp as EVP & Chief Customer & Digital Officer, effective from the 3rd of December, 2019.

Digital expertise

Rupp joins Albertsons from Microsoft, where she held the position of general manager of the Xbox Business Engineering team. Prior to that, she held a number of roles at Amazon, including the role of Vice President of Prime from 2014. She also played a part in the creation and launch of the first Prime Day in July 2015. Her retail, ecommerce and business experience will help Albertsons to grow its technological capabilities and serve its customers in the rapidly evolving retail industry.

Role at  Albertsons

Rupp will have a number of responsibilities in her new role, including accelerating the ecommerce business, integrating and enhancing the customers' experiences across all digital touchpoints and utilizing loyalty programs to deepen customer relationships. Data strategy and data science capabilities is another area she will have responsibility for. Albertsons recognizes that its most loyal customers are those that shop across all of its channels and building lasting relationships with them is a key priority and it aims to aid this with the experience and expertise that Chris Rupp brings to the role.
