New director announced at Celesio UK

Date : 15 April 2013
Celesio UK (owners of Lloydspharmacy) has announced the appointment of a new director to strengthen the UK management team. As part of the European Pharmacy Network (ENP) programme, a third concept store has been opened in Scotland.

UK management team reorganised

The new marketing and sales director is Nigel Swift, who will also be responsible for a number of other directors within the business:-

Kirstie Hepburn - Retail Operations

Andrew Willets - (Public Sector and Healthcare Services)

Dave Rollinson - (sales director, third parties and dispensing doctors)

Chris Frost - market development

Leon Rudd - marketing

This is a promotion for Nigel Swift, who was previously responsible for the rollout of the new store designs as part of the EPN. In his new role he will report to recently appointed Celesio UK managing director Cormac Tobin.

Third concept store opened

Lloyds also opened its latest concept store last week in Auchterader, Perthshire. This now brings the total to three, the other stores are in Bromsgrove and Bicester. The opening of the new store comes after Lloyds lost a high court battle to prevent a rival pharmacy opening in the same town.

Our view

The group has been through a a traumatic time over the last two years with a number of directors being appointed and then leaving the business, plus the loss of 120 jobs at head office. Cormac Tobin is the group's fourth managing director since 2010.

By strengthening the management team and getting behind the EPN roll out, Lloyds will be a in a more competitive position.
