Marks & Spencer Food partners food-delivery app Foodpanda in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
Delivery under 30 minutes
The partnership will make packaged food and wine available for delivery within 30 minutes in areas near existing M&S Food stores. Foodpanda has developed a grocery delivery service, Pandamart, which has been incorporated into its existing meal delivery app. Shoppers will be able to order up to 300 food and drink items in Hong Kong and Singapore now. Malaysian shoppers have to wait until the end of the month due to restrictions related to COVID-19.
Christine Choi, CEO of Marks & Spencer Asia, said, “we know our customers across Asia are passionate about Marks & Spencer Food, which is why we’ve partnered with Foodpanda to help get them the products they need as well as supporting those who currently aren’t able to visit stores easily”.
Elevated online grocery penetration
We hypothesized that elevated online grocery penetration will remain post COVID-19. More home delivery providers like Foodpanda will emerge as shoppers stay at home more. When social distancing ends, shoppers will continue to use online to save time.
