Coop Schweiz boosts brands

Coop Schweiz has added Swiss brands under the umbrella of its Naturaplan label, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the organic range's launch.

Knorr, Zweifel, Emmi added to range

Stocki KnorrCoop Schweiz has been working with the suppliers for a year to add organic versions of Zweifel crisps, Emmi Gala cheese and Stocki Knorr mashed potatoes to the Naturaplan family.  Additional products, in organic versions, will follow in the coming weeks to grow the 1,600-strong range.

Point of difference over Migros

Ongoing expansion and development of its private label ranges is one of Coop's priorities.  Sustainable ranges in particular play a key role, with Naturaplan the largest of these. 

Private label ranges account for over half of Coop's overall sales and continue to perform well; Naturaplan range reported 4.5% sales growth in Coop's recent full year results.  Despite this, Coop's branded presence remains greater than that of its main competitor, Migros, and this latest move will help Coop continue to get stronger in this area.
