Coles has launched a new online subscription service, offering unlimited home deliveries.
New service has two subscription options
Coles' new service, called Delivery Plus, will allow shoppers who spend over AU$100 per order to get free delivery of their online grocery shopping. The new service offers two subscriptions; Any Day Saver and Mid Week Saver:
- Any Day Saver costs AU$19 a month and allows shoppers to have products delivered on any day of the week
- Mid Week Saver costs AU$14 a month and only allows deliveries for free on Tuesday to Thursday
To encourage people to sign up, Coles is offering the first month free, while shoppers can also cancel their subscription at any time. Karen Donaldson, Coles Online general manager, commented, “On average, the cost of a Coles Home Delivery window is AU$10. Delivery Plus will allow customers who regularly shop online to save hundreds of dollars a year.”
Both major retailers now offer sub services...
Both Coles and Woolworths are seeing impressive growth from their online grocery operations. Both are significantly investing in the operation, increasing capacity, as well as their own cabability to deliver enhanced customer service. Coles' Delivery Plus launch follows a rebrand of Woolworths' own delivery sub service, called 'Delivery Unlimited' in September 2019. Both services cost a similar amount on a monthly basis, although Woolworths customers can choose to pay for the year upfront, making its service better value.
