Co-op and Deliveroo partnership reaches 400 stores

Co-op has announced it has expanded its partnership with Deliveroo, now offering delivery from 400 stores.

Range of 600 products

Co-op has become the most widely available food retailer on the Deliveroo app, serving towns and cities across the UK with a combined population of 27 million people.

Customers can order from a range of more than 600 grocery and household items, which are ordered on the Deliveroo app and packed by Co-op colleagues at local stores. Orders are delivered within 30 minutes.

In order to promote the partnership, Deliveroo has launched a TV advertisement with Co-op which is on air throughout August.

Acceleration of online offer

Co-op announced in May that is it rapidly accelerating its online expansion to more than double the number of stores planned as it adapts to changing shopper demands caused by the coronavirus crisis. addition to its partnership with Deliveroo and its own dedicated online shop (coop.co.uk/shop), the retailer announced in May that it was teaming up with Buymie for a trial in Bristol.

In June, Co-op also announced it is rolling out robot deliveries to further communities across Milton Keynes after seeing the number of customers using the service more than double throughout lockdown.  

Chris Conway, Head of Ecommerce at Co-op, said: “We are offering speed, flexibility and choice with on demand, online convenience meeting consumer needs in our communities. We have accelerated our plans to roll-out online delivery through our own online store and with partners.”
