Booths has appointed Paul Minett as its new retail director.
Extensive industry experience
Following David Benson’s retirement in March, Booths has announced Paul Minett as its new retail director. He joins from Panda United, based in Saudi Arabia, where he was director of hypermarkets. Prior to this, he was Head of Retail at Best Buy UK and previously worked at Asda and Sainsbury’s.
Takes charge of Booths’ 29 stores
At Booths Paul will be responsible for the day-to-day running of its 29 stores. Commenting on the appointment, chief operating officer, Chris Dee outlined how the appointment will help Booths “improve and refine [its] store offering and take the business to another level”.
Joining at an important time for the retailer
Booths is focusing on differentiation in 2013 by increasing its specialism in quality food and drink as well as improving operational efficiency. At the same time the retailer’s new Price Promise initiative is borne out of its ‘True Value’ campaign, where Booths is committed to helping shoppers make money saving decisions. Also Booths has just launched its loyalty card and app, and this will be an important focus for the retailer in the months ahead.
