Amazon has doubled its delivery network in India ahead of its flagship sales event, Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale.
Delivery network expansion
Amazon has significantly expanded its supply chain network throughout India to more than 1,400 delivery stations across 750 cities. The expansion aims to strengthen Amazon’s capacity ahead of the festive season. Amazon said over 100 delivery stations exclusively manage deliveries from its large appliances and furniture categories alone.
The move comes before Amazon is set to begin its Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale event. The sale covers a wide range of products available on Amazon India, with Prime members receiving early access to deals.
This follows the news that Amazon India has opened its largest campus and invested into Future Retail. Amazon also recently launched its AmazonFresh store in the country. Indian shoppers now have access to more than 5,000 items across categories such as packaged foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products and beauty care products.
