Amazon has opened its second Go Grocery store in Redmond, Washington, as reported by GeekWire.
Second large format Go store
Amazon Go Grocery was Amazon’s first large format grocery store. It launched in February 2020 and uses the same checkout-free technology as Amazon’s Go convenience format stores, which launched in 2018. With its Go Grocery stores, Amazon evolved its range and solved limitations it had in smaller stores with loose products such as produce and bakery items.
Amazon has now launched its second Go Grocery store in Washington, which is 7350 square foot. One difference of the new store is that it will offer hot food products prepared in an on-site kitchen. The range includes breakfast wraps, soups, hot sandwiches, pizza slices, rotisserie chicken, and ribs. The store will also offer an expanded range of baby products. Other categories featured in the store include fresh produce, meat and seafood, bakery, alcohol, and prepared meals.
This news follows the launch of Amazon’s first Fresh grocery store in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles in August.
