New value-focused promotional campaign
The new "Priced to the Pound" campaign focuses on round pound pricing demonstrating simple value for shoppers. Over 120 branded products in ambient grocery and non-food categories are showcased in the promotion.
Food & grocery director leaves the business
According to reports by The Grocer, Rupert Thomas is set to leave Waitrose & Partners at the end of the year, after 17 years with the grocer. His replacement is yet to be announced.
Ecommerce launch in UAE
1,500 households in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be able to order Waitrose groceries online for the first time. The service will be served by 12 delivery vans, offering 2,800 slots each week, including same day deliveries. Orders will be picked from store.
Waitrose continues to expand its operations in the region through its partnership with Fine Fare Food Market LLC. As well as its online launch, store network expansion is also planned, with two new stores set to open in Dubai by the end of the year.
