FamilyMart is planning to open 220-230 new stores in Taiwan this year.
Expanding store network
FamilyMart plans to open more than 200 new stores in Taiwan this year. On March 25, the retailer reported net income of TW$1.8bn (US$60.6m) for last year, up 13.4% from the previous year.
After 7-Eleven, FamilyMart is the second-largest convenience-store chain in Taiwan, operating more than 3,600 stores nationwide. Last year, it opened 222 new stores and achieved SSS growth of 2%. It will continue to focus on fresh food sales and boosting its membership program.
