British-based forecourt operator Euro Garages has acquired NRGValue Retail BV, a company which owns 97 Esso-branded sites in the Netherlands.
This is the latest of Euro Garage's international acquisitions, taking its site count in the Dutch market to 595.
Consolidating leading position
Mohsin Issa, EG group founder and co-CEO, said "This is a great opportunity for EG to reinforce its existing position as a leading independent forecourt operator in the Netherlands. I believe that our expertise in investing in an effective branded non-fuel retail offer provides room for significant growth across the NRGValue portfolio".
The purchase is subject to the approval from the Dutch competition authority (ACM).
This Dutch acquisition is yet another step in the rapid international expansion of Euro Garage's fuel and convenience retailing interests. The announcement comes less than a month after Euro Garages purchased US retailer Kroger's convenience network, a deal that added 762 stores to the group's network.
Euro Garages currently operates in the British, French, Italian, German, Belgian, Dutch and American markets.
