Albert Heijn and Etos appointments and successes

Ahold Delhaize has made a series of new appointments. We outline these and consider recent contributions these colleagues and their teams have made to the wider Ahold Delhaize business.

Marit van Egmond, Jan-Derek Groenendaal and Saskia Egas Reparaz promoted

These include the appointment of:

  • Marit van Egmond as EVP Commerce at Albert Heijn
  • Jan-Derek Groenendaal as being responsible for European Strategic Projects, supporting Wouter Kolk
  • Saskia Egas Reparaz as General Manager of Etos

Marit van Egmond successes: range renewal, health and convenient meal for tonight inspiration

Recent successes under her have been range renewal and making products healthier. Other innovative ideas include the Bakery Café concept, Product Pitch and the Allerhande Box, which contains recipes and ingredients to make different dishes.

Jan-Derek Groenendaal successes: customer feedback, health & beauty and private label export

Under Jan-Derek Groenendaal, formerly General Manager at Etos, the banner was voted the Netherlands’ best drugstore three times. Stores have been updated, with an emphasis on health & beauty. Meanwhile private label products have been exported to other Ahold Delhaize banners in Belgium, the Czech Republic and the US.

Saskia Egas Reparaz successes: open communication, AR/VR technologies and Appie Today

Under Saskia Egas Reparaz, formerly Marketing, Format and Communication (MFC) Director at Albert Heijn, the format has seen more open and transparent communication. AR and VR technologies were also explored, while Albert Heijn’s social channel, Appie Today was introduced.
