A.S. Watson has announced that they will open 88 new stores in the UK via Superdrug, Savers and The Perfume Shop.
Investment in UK despite uncertainty
While sterling has fallen due to the Brexit uncertainty, and local currency HKD sliding against USD, A.S. Watson will continue to invest in the UK. The group said it would be opening 30 more Superdrug stores, 45 Savers outlets and 13 The Perfume Shop stores.
A.S.Watson's investments are not limited to new store openings and technological advancements like the ones announced last month. Health and beauty chain Watsons will refresh its brand through new uniforms for its store teams. The design was created via a school competition engaging consumers, and this drives customer engagement. The fabrics of the uniform have been tailored to meet the practical needs of staff members, and there are subtle details on the design to portray a more fashionable appearance. The new design will be rolled-out to Watson's 12 markets, including Indonesia, Philippines, South Korea, Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Precise timelines for full implementation has yet to be confirmed.
