Babou is the French variety discounter that was recently acquired by B&M. It has around 95 stores spread across France. The retailer has an offering of around 30,000 SKUs across clothing, general merchandise and seasonal items. We recently visited multiple Babou stores in the Roubaix area and were impressed by how it is differentiating itself by targeting specific shoppers; families and teenagers. Action is the leading variety discounter in France. Stores contain around 6,000 products across 14 different categories. Around 2,000 products are sold for less than €1. We recently visited multiple Action stores in the Roubaix area of France. We were impressed by its broad offering and the buzzing shopping atmosphere in store.
