Velika Kishenya to focus on Kiev

Ukrainian retailer Velika Kishenya has revised its store opening target for 2013; it now aims to open 15-30 stores rather than the 30-40 previously stated.

Aim to increase sales by 10-15% compared to 2012

The group reported net sales of $605m in 2012 and is aiming to increase this to nearly $700m in 2013.

Several formats set to expand

Kiev will be the focus for the group’s expansion. It is planning on opening around 15 VK Express convenience stores in the city of Kiev and its region, as well as four Velmart discounters and ten Velika Kishenya supermarkets.
