Colruyt announces new CFO

Date : 08 January 2013
Belgian discounter Colruyt has appointed Marc Hofman of the Ter Beke Group as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Well placed experience

Hofman will take up the position from 1 April 2013 and brings with him plenty of relevant experience. Previously he has worked as an auditor with Arthur Andersen, and as CFO with SUN International Group. Jef Colruyt, CEO of Colruyt Group commented "His experience as the director of the meat production division at Ter Beke comes in handy since at Colruyt Goup we also have production departments for meat, coffee and cheese. I am convinced that he will fit perfectly into the business culture that is typical of Colruyt Group."

'Enthusiastic' about the opportunity

Colruyt has been looking for a new CFO since September 2012 when current CFO Wim Biesemans announced his intention to leave the group. Hofman is reported to be excited about his appointment, and has said "I have a great affinity for the culture of the family company Colruyt Group, where the focus is on respect and transparency. Efficiency and no-nonsense are very important to me too... I am looking forward to working for a company that focuses on the same values as me."
