Canadian challenges impact Target’s profitability

Target’s third quarter sales increased by 4.0% to $17,258m. In the US, total sales increased by 2.0%, with comparable store sales up 0.9%. The Canadian business, which was launched this year, generated sales of $333m in the quarter. Net earnings fell by 46.4% to $341m. Highly promotional holiday…
