To help local residents during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Chicago based Mariano's has launched an online platform called Mariano's Meet Ups.

Interactive classes

The platform is hosting cooking classes, demonstrations, wine tastings and more. Classes will be hosted by local chefs and sommeliers, as well as Mariano's Tastemakers. They aim to provide customers with tips and tricks to help them prepare meals and cocktails at home, whilst social distancing and other measures are in place. Recipes for the cookery classes are posted online ahead of the classes and customers can order any required groceries online for delivery or pickup.

Additional entertainment

Another feature on the platform is the 'Live at Mariano's' musical performance that usually takes place in stores. Instead, it will be streamed online every Friday from 6-7pm and will feature local artists. For children, entertainer Miss Jamie from the farm will do live performances on Sunday mornings from 10-10.30am. Customers can sign up online for these virtual events and registration is free. Mariano's, which is a banner of Kroger, is well known for its community activities and this latest initiative demonstrates its commitment to its customers.
