Morrisons has launched its Market Kitchen food-to-go concept at a second store, following the launch at its Canning Town store last year.

As reported by The Grocer, Asda has also opened a new Asian street food KellyDeli concession.

Second Market Kitchen concept

Morrisons has opened its Market Kitchen concept at its Manchester Piccadilly Gardens store. Customers can choose from a range of breakfast, lunch, or evening meals including porridge, soup, wraps, curry, lasagne, and pizza. Meals can be freshly made-to-order or customers can choose from ready-made options. Customers can also order through Deliveroo for delivery.

Hannah Munns, Head of Market Kitchen at Morrisons, said: “The chefs in our Market Kitchen will use ingredients straight from our famous Market Street to create delicious seasonal meals for customers that are made to order. It means that customers can pop in and pick up their next meal while also buying the groceries they need for future meals.”

New KellyDeli brand at Asda

At its Minworth store, Asda has launched a new Asian street food KellyDeli brand, Bam Tuk. According to the report from The Grocer, the retailer said the concession is an “open-kitchen style concept, adding theatre to the in-store shopping experience”. Customers can choose from a range of rice, noodle and curry dishes from Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Dishes can be eaten immediately or there is the option to heat at home.

The new offer is the latest trial to be introduced to Asda stores and continues the retailer’s focus on ‘test and learn’ partnerships in 2020.  Asda announced earlier this year that it would be working with a number of brands in 2020, including Greggs, Just Eat and KellyDeli, to bring new ‘Food to Go’ options to customers which complement the retailer's existing range.
