Major UK and international forecourt retailer EG Group is launching the first phase of its new partnership with US sweet bakery brand Cinnabon. On 4 December it will open the first of a number of central bakery sites in the UK, which will act as supply hubs for up to 50 Cinnabon units on EG sites across the country. In the long term EG plans to grow this network to 150 units.
Central bakeries will supply fresh dough to satellites
The new central bakery in Blackburn, Lancashire, will supply other units across the EG estate with the fresh dough for hand-rolling and bake-off on site, offering a fresh-baked experience alongside hot and cold beverages. The first of the new consumer facing Cinnabon units is located at the EG forecourt on Frontier Park, also in Blackburn. Here it joins a range of other foodservice brands including Subway, Greggs, Starbucks and, another recent addition, Sbarro pizza.
