Global retailing store visits


Australian shopping habits are changing with a growing demand for convenient solutions. Woolworths Metro at Melbourne’s Central station is one of the retailer’s new urban convenience stores that it has been opening to try and take advantage of this trend.
Following its renovation in 2015, Carrefour has created an urban, food-focused hypermarket in the Euralille shopping centre. Its highlights include the connected trolley, regional ranges, the fresh marketplace, and food-to-go area.

We visited the store, in Lille, to understand how Carrefour is driving innovation in its hypermarkets.
Established in 1985, Robinsons Retail is the second largest multi-format retail chain in the Philippines, with over 125 stores nationwide. As the first major retailer in the country to promote health and wellness, Robinsons Supermarket commits to bring together healthy selections and affordable prices in a refreshingly clean and organised shopping destination. It has a clear goal to educate and empower its customers to make healthy choices.

A key highlight of this store is that it presents a hybrid format which serves both traditional trade sari-sari stores and end consumers. The retailer adopts an efficient operation approach which enables them to focus on its strong value proposition, and provide services and loyalty schemes that benefit its customers.
