NTUC FairPrice launched its largest FairPrice Xtra hypermarket and Unity Pharmacy at VivoCity today. The opening event was officiated by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry and hosted by Mr Seah Kian Peng, CEO, NTUC FairPrice.
A lion dance was performed to bring good fortunes to the store.
Ms Elaine Heng, deputy CEO, head of channels for NTUC FairPrice introduced the key features of the store. She shared the store's approach to address shoppers’ needs and retail innovations to provide convenience.
This was followed by an official store tour hosted by Mr Seah for the minister and delegates.
One of the key highlights was a display of fresh vegetables grown in-store to bring the farm-to-table concept to life.
The hypermarket was filled with sampling booths, product demonstrations and information sharing by staff members and suppliers.
It features several concepts that are newly introduced in this store:
- Unique food experience including dine-in options and food preparation
- Lifestyle services including general wellness advice, beauty and makeup tips and a leisure and hobbies zone where shoppers can customize a bicycle
- A new scan and go app will be made available in September so shoppers can skip the queue
A full store visit report will follow shortly.
