A.S. Watson enters the Middle East

A.S. Watson announced this week it plans to open its first flagship in the Middle East in Dubai Mall on 1st October under its Watsons brand, and plans to roll out 100 stores in the region by 2025.

‘Bringing Watsons to the beauty-savvy customers in the Middle East’

The global drugstore operator signed its first-ever franchise agreement with Al-Futtaim, marking its first venture in the Middle East. The agreement sets out to open 100 stores in the region by 2025 and plans to enter Saudi Arabia by 2021. A.S. Watson currently operates around 16,000 stores across Asia and Europe. 

The retailer will open a Watsons flagship store in Dubai Mall this October and will also offer an e-commerce portal, a dedicated mobile app called Watsons UAE and a Watsons loyalty programme.

Dominic Lai, A.S. Watson’s global managing director highlighted,
