Gruppo 3A partners with Despar Italia to expand its operational plans. Separately, Carrefour partners with Coldiretti to promote 100% Italian products in Italy and internationally. Meanwhile, Supermercato24 acquires Poland-based Szopi to accelerate its regional expansion strategy.
Gruppo 3A partners with Despar Italia
From 1 January 2020 Gruppo 3A will partner with Despar Italia. The partnership will allow it to expand its operations in north west Italy. The agreement between the two organisations highlights the continuing transition of local distribution groups in the country that had links with Auchan Retail Italia, before it sold its Italian assets.
Gruppo 3A stores will be converted to the Spar brand and will begin to stock more than 1,600 Despar private label products. Under its previous agreement with Auchan, Gruppo 3A stores were branded under the Simply banner.
Carrefour partners with Coldiretti
Carrefour is to collaborate with Coldiretti, an Italian farmer’s association. The partnership aims to promote Italian food, both locally and internationally. The collaboration will allow the ‘Made in Italy’ range to be offered in 1,000 Carrefour stores across 18 Italian regions.
The authentic Italian products include a FDAI label, which proves the products are genuinely Italian. The ‘Made in Italy’ range includes:
- Fresh fruit and vegetables
Coldiretti has expressed the importance of the transparency of product information to shoppers. The range offers visibility, products can be traced along the whole supply chain and creates a sustainable set of products of local origin.
Supermercato24 acquires Szopi
Supermercato24 has acquired Poland-based Szopi. The partnership will allow both groups to expand in Europe. Supermercato24’s has expansion plans specially for Poland. Supermercato24 allows shoppers to order from local supermarkets for delivery, in 31 Italian cities.
