Lawson has partnered Uber Eats in a short trial that offers food delivery for shoppers in Tokyo.
100 Lawson products listed on Uber Eats app
Just over one year ago, Lawson ended home delivery service for Lawson Fresh. The latest initiative will see Lawson selling around 100 products through the Uber Eats app. The service is now available for users in select Lawson stores in Shinjuku and Shinagawa. It may cover other parts of Tokyo in the future.
Partnership with Uber Eats will help drive efficiencies
Lawson plans to test the service for the next three months before deciding on a wider roll-out. Uber Eats could help reduce some of the logistical costs and burdens that many Japanese retailers face trading online.
