Don Don Donki has opened a 4,000 sq. m. discount store at The Market Mall with more than 130,000 items, including fresh products and essentials. Its private label products under Jonetsu Kakaku will also be featured.

In-store dining space

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the retailer will only provide take-away services for cooked food although the store has a dining area. The government has limited café operations to prevent spread of the virus. The retailer will limit the number of entrances and exits to control the flow of traffic into the store. All staff and customers will get a temperature check. Baskets and cashier counters will be sterilised frequently.

Second store part of wider expansion plan

Pan Pacific International Holdings (PPIH) has been expanding Don Quijote outlets out of Japan and across the Asia-Pacific region including Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and the United States (Hawaii and the U.S. West Coast). The first Thai store was opened in February last year and it announced plans for its second store in September. Imported products for the second store were shipped before the coronavirus pandemic broke out.
