Sainsbury's continues with Savacentre rollout

Sainsbury's is continuing to roll out its Savacentre format stores with the opening of two new stores. The first has already opened in Wigan as part of a six-store trial of the new scheme, and a separate decision has already been made to build a new Savacentre in Ashton Moss (near Oldham). Sainsbury's will not reveal the locations of the other planned trial stores, neither will they comment on the progress of the existing store trials, as the trial is due to run into the new year.

All stores in the trial will range from 31,000 to 70,000 sq. ft. and will be created from extensions and refurbishments to existing stores.
